How Does Polyjet 3D Printing Work?

PolyJet 3D printing technology operates by depositing layers of liquid photopolymer onto a build tray, which then cure to form the desired shapes.

  1. Pre-Processing: Preparation software automatically organizes the arrangement of photopolymers and support material from the native 3D CAD file.
  2. Production: Utilizing UV light, PolyJet printers promptly cure the liquid photopolymer droplets, gradually building up thin layers on the build tray to construct the 3D part(s). In areas requiring support, the printer dispenses removable support material.
  3. Support Removal: The support material can be easily removed by hand, through water immersion, or with a solution bath. No additional post-curing is necessary, as the 3D printed part is immediately ready for handling once removed from the build tray.
